Turok: Rage Wars. System Nintendo 64 Publisher Acclaim Developer Acclaim Studios Austin. Actually the third release bearing the Turok name, Rage Wars unlike its two previous efforts, jettisons the traditional one-player mode for full-featured multiplayer options instead. That's not to say that there isn't any semblance of a single-player game. It's nothing but a multiplayer expansion and really has no business being a standalone game now. That's wrong, the game has completely different movement and aim physics. It didn't play anything like Turok 2, the graphics & animations also were different. That's because they decided to release it standalone fairly early in development (they were trying to rehash Turok 2 multiplayer into Quake3/UT99-like arena FPS because those were all rage back in the day). All changes could be easily implemented in Turok 2.

Especially given that these PC remasters are running on a brand new engine. Much more versatile engine. Rage Wars could easily be a DLC for Turok 2 (like Team Arena for Quake 3), and it will make more sense as a DLC for numerous reasons. But I don't really care if it'd be a DLC or standalone. I want Rage Wars. Originally posted by:Rage Wara should be Single (Separate) like how it originally came out Enjoy your dead online community a week after release.

No need to splinter an already tiny multiplayer community. (Splintering of multiplayer communities in general is bad, mmkay?)The fact it's on a separate N64 cartridge isn't a good argument. It was going to be an N64DD expansion for T2 like said, but fell through very quickly due to the N64DD's failure early on. If the N64 had internal storage to begin with, it probably would have stayed an expansion.KEX is flexible enough to adapt it's physics and other mechanics no problem.

(Turok 2 EX's physics are more like Rage Wars' than stock T2's anyway.). Originally posted by:Enjoy your dead online community a week after release. Turok Rage Wars N64 Rom

(Turok 2 EX's physics are more like Rage Wars' than stock T2's anyway.) As much as I am a puritan when it comes to remakes I'd have to agree the community is too small to withstand a devide. If or when they add a level editor or use T1s editor and just add T2s props and content to it you could pretty much make your own Rage Wars game.

Example: They bring over Editor from T1 for T2 and if you own T1 already you'll also be able to use T1 NPCs and props for your level design and they could add TRW content as DLC to T2 so you'll have all the RW stages NPCs and weapons specific to TRW to work with as well. Now along with that the devs could add a content share option like Halo has with it's Multiplayer and that would allow people to share senarios and custom stages for people to play on which would give a big boost to multiplayer and extend the longivity of the active multiplayer community. I don't know if all this is feasable but I think it would be worth looking into at least. Especially if the community does go away or moves on you can at least play with NPCs by yourself and still toy around with stuff. Originally posted by:So what is it a Sequel or a Expansion Pack?! I'm confused Technically is was a mutiplayer focused spin off of the Turok series. In my personal experience it was fun and the death animations and sounds were cheesy but in a good way.

Loved hitting NPCs with missles and wacthing them do back flips in the air and face planting or turn into floating splatter marks and making funny death cries. XD But the point is Rage Wars would be better as a DLC this go around instead of being seperate and further deviding a small user base into a even smaller one.

Honestly either or is fine with me as long as I can still play with NPCs if the player base dies.
